Katherine Sutherland, M.D., FACOG

Dr. Sutherland was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. She attended Emory University in Atlanta where she obtained her BS in Chemistry. She obtained a MS in Chemistry at Harvard. She then went to Stanford for medical school and continued there for internship and residency in OB/GYN. She formed what was to become Women Physician's Medical Group with Dr. Litwin in 1983. She was Board Certified by the American College of OB/GYN in 1985 and is a fellow of the American College of OB/GYN (FACOG). She has served as chairman of the El Camino Hospital department of OB/GYN.  

She has a special interest in management of menopause, female sexuality, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.  Her skills include use of the daVinci Robot.  For more information on this cutting edge surgery, see http://www.davincisurgery.com/.      

Dr Sutherland is married and has two daughters. Her hobbies include travel, learning Spanish, hiking, and gardening. She is a breast cancer survivor and does volunteer work for cancer organizations.  She served as a CoChair in 2009 for the Relay For Life of Mountain View. 

As of April, 2011, Dr. Sutherland is modifying her practice to focus on preventative women's health care, office gynecology, and gynecologic surgery.  After that time, she will no longer be doing deliveries.
