"I'm sad to lose my favorite doctor. I'll miss your smiling face. But I'm happy for you to enter the next chapter of your life."
A note from Katherine Sutherland, M.D.
"After 33 years of practicing Ob-Gyn, and loving every minute (almost), I am now moving on to pursue other goals and interests. As of August 28, 2015, I will be retiring from my medical practice. It has been an honor and a privilege to participate in the lives of so many amazing women! For many of you, Women Physicians Ob-Gyn has been a part of your lives for many years. I know it has been hard to lose one physician after another to relocation or retirement. But like many good things, Women Physicians is coming to an end.
"I hope to help you make a smooth transition to new physicians who have the same patient care philosophy and can continue to provide ongoing care for many years to come. With those goals in mind, I am recommending El Camino Women's Medical Group to continue your care. As of August 28, 2015, your entire records will be transferred to El Camino Women's Medical Group. Dr. Amy Teng has agreed to accept responsibility for my patients and I believe you will be very satisfied with her care. The group accepts most insurances. You can review the bios of the physicians and get insurance information on their website. If you elect to tranfer your records to a different physician, please fill out an authorization form, sign it, and mail or email to our office. Most physicians do not need more than a summary sheet and detailed reports of the last 2 years. If complete records are requested, these will be provided on a disc, a $40 transfer fee will be charged, and it will take 2 to 3 weeks.
"It has been a great pleasure meeting and caring for all of you. I sincerely appreciate your friendship and loyalty. I wish you continued good health and all the best in the coming years. If you would like to stay in touch following my retirement, you can contact me at email@example.com."
"Nurse Barb has always been amazing for me! What's next for her?"
A note from Nurse Practitioner, Barb Dehn.
"I've loved caring for patients and having the opportunity to learn from the incredible physicians I've had the pleasure to work with at Women Physicians for the last 24 years. With Dr. Sutherland's retirement, it has opened an opportunity for me to take a brief leave of absence to explore other avenues to work as a nurse practitioner perhaps in women’s health here in Mt. View, or in palliative care, cancer care, global health or even gerontology. At this point, I plan to return in early 2016 and am looking at several options."
Barb shares Dr. Sutherland’s view that Dr. Sarah Azad and Dr. Amy Teng provide the kind of comprehensive, individualized, compassionate commitment to caring for the whole woman. It is the model for how to best care for people and she will be seeing them for her own women’s health care. She will be working with them seeing patients as a nurse practioner for one day a week starting in March 2016.
The best way to reach Barb is via email: Barb@NurseBarb.com or to follow her public page on FaceBook @NurseBarbDehn where she will post regular updates on her plans. Thanks so much for allowing me to be a small part of your health care.
